"NY College holds gala"
Appeared in Long Island Business News, November 20 - 26, 1998Over two hundred people applauded the accomplishments of the New York College for Wholistic Health Education and Research in Syosset during its 2nd Annual Wholistic Celebration last month at the Metropolitan in Glen Cove.
The evening honored three Long Islanders for their contributions to the New York College and its Wholistic Health Center (formerly known as the Wholistic Health Center at New Center College).
Stan Greenman, CEO of Noodle Kidoodle, has personally hosted fund-raising events that advocated the benefits of wholistic health.
Erica Garay, Esq., partner at the law firm of Rivkin, Radler and Kremer, has spearheaded the efforts of the Long Island Women's Agenda, which gives professional women a voice in developing programs and policies on a variety of issues, including health care.
Gloria Roccio, president of the Ward Melville Heritage Organization, initiated and implemented the establishment of the College's satellite location, Wholistic Health Center in Stony Brook.
The principle of wholistic health emphasizes the connection between the mind and the body. The Center's licensed practitioners treat both acute conditions as well as chronic conditions, such as arthritis and headaches.
The college offers medical career options through professional training in a variety of complementary health practices. Its newly accredited joint bachelors and master program in Oriental Medicine is the first such program in the state.
